Before conducting a selection program, basic information on genetic parameters including heritability, genetic variance and genetic and phenotypic correlations among traits must be estimated. While genetic variation and heritability will help predicting genetic responses, genetic correlations between traits will determine the genetic goal. The current study using individual size records and pedigree information collected over 3 generations from a stock selected for fast growth. Generally, heritabilities estimates were moderate to high ranging from 0.12 to 0.51 and heritabilities estimated were larger for females than for males, but any differences observed, were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Genetic correlations between size traits were generally positive and high (0.89-1.00).
