The objectives of this study were to find the optimal conditions for sperm cryopreservation of waigieu seaperch (Psammoperca waigiensis): extender, dilution ratio and temperature. Semen was diluted in different extenders (RSW, MHer, RFS, and ASP) at dilution ratios of 1:1, 1:3, 1:5 and 1:10 (semen: extender) and preserved in refrigerator at 0, 2 and 4C. Results showed that the most effective conditions for preservation of waigieu seaperch sperm were ASP in dilution ratio of 1:3 at 2oC, in which the preserved sperm maintained motility for 24 days. These results demonstrate that spermatozoa of waigieu seaperch can be preserved.
